why do we question???
think about it!!!! why do we question science when we have all the proof you can think of??? examples when it works or not and why...we question the truth of science and investigation yet when it comes to religion its just taken as the truth...we demand proof undeniable hard facts for everything yet we are expected to just believe with religion. how do you believe and trust something you cant see/hear/or touch??? where is the proof that we are always looking for??? im just trying to understand why we change our standards simply for a book??? what is it about the bible that causes unwarranted belief and undoubtable trust???

I think it might have something to do with what comes after death. When you have religion you can believe that after death the is something to look forewaed to. I think people change to fit the bible because in the Bible, God promises them eternal life. So they believe that if they do what God commands then they will get it. With so many Christians in the world, people just assume that everyone they meet is Christian so they xpect everyone to live the way they would. And I'm not trying to say that there isn't some higher force or being out there, because I totally believe there is. But not everyone accepts religion, like athiests.
ReplyDeleteGosh. I'm so confused with what I'm tryingto say. Thanks Adrieanna, thanks.
i totally get it what your saying we think we kno what we really want so we manipulate our lives and ourself to fit in that image
ReplyDeleteRight, I totally like what I've read thus far. Refreshing. I call myself a Newager. I don't belong to any religion. I continue to struggle with the belief of an All Powerful God. I'd love that to be true. But whoever or whatever is in charge of this stupid world is doing a real bang-up job. Sure, I could blame the ills of Earth on human beings and our supposedly God-given free will. BUT I cannot grasp that a loving, compassionate Being or God can look down and see children and people being raped and bludgeoned. Just how is it allowable? And why?
ReplyDeleteBasically, I'm with Left Sock...I believe there are unseen higher (and lower) forces that may at times intercede on the behalf of some people but those interventions appear to be inconsistent.
Right Sock, I'm following you with great interest on what you next focus on...BTW, thank you so much for following mine!...Blessings to you and Left Sock.

ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm Sweet Little Angel.
ReplyDeleteim glad you are interested in this sweet little angel. your reasoning for the lack of belief in an all powerful god is exactly my problem. how can he bee such a good person and let thoses things happen to kids too young to even understand??? and the whole free will thing has me stumped. do we have this so called free will or is our entire life mapped out for us from birth??? i have been told both...and in the same discussion so thats a confusing thing there. i do believe in higher spirits but only one all powerful being??? not logical.
ReplyDeletefollow some of left socks blogs youll be intrigued im sure...
